The mark
Three tiles, cut to fit. The joints between them form a T: the letter isn’t drawn, it’s where the pieces meet. The last tile is set in gold, where the light lands.
- Clear space
- Keep the height of the top tile clear on every side.
- Size
- 16 pixels at the smallest. Under 40 pixels the joints open a little so the T stays visible; the icon files already do this.
- Integrity
- Keep the gold on the last tile. Don’t recolor the tiles, rotate or mirror the mark, add effects, or set it on a busy image.
Logo
Use the full logo where people meet the name, and the mark alone where the name is already nearby: app icons, avatars, favicons.

Color
Two grounds, Marble and Vault. Ink for words, Lapis for anything you can act on, and gold only where light lands: the mark’s last tile, a highlight, a chosen option.

Type
One typeface: Archivo, a grotesque with a width axis. We only ever condense it, from 100% down to 75%, so words fit the space they’re given instead of wrapping.

Tessera Systems is an independent software company. We design, build and run complete products: web platforms, iPhone and Android apps, and the cloud systems underneath them. We work end to end, from the data model to the phone in someone’s pocket, and we build the way a mosaic is laid: small pieces, cut with care, each set to fit the ones around it.
